I have a real hard time with motivation and "Getting to the Gym!" but once there I do like to workout and Chris is great with motivating me the way I respond best to. She always has me working hard and sweating during classes but she is able to customize the movements in the classes so that everyone is able to join in, even with varying injuries. Chris gives individual attention to everyone, and the feeling of community and camaraderie is one of the reasons I keep going. Chris is extremely knowledgeable and alway increasing her knowledge base with courses and reading and then providing us with her insight into latest scientific research. Overall I am stronger and healthier, both physically and mentally, since I started at Merriott Fitness thanks to Chris and the personal motivation she gives me.
Chris is extremely educated and motivated to provide the absolute best service for her clients. She is a life long learner who is continually educating herself with the science of the body in all levels, physical, chemical, mental, and emotional. She provides a very safe and comfortable environment and modifies all workouts, plans and programs to fit the needs of her clients! She has prepared me to achieve my personal bests in half marathons, and cycle rides successfully.
After five years of “inactivity” I was feeling the need to get my butt (and the rest of my body!) back in shape. At the age of 61, and with several physical limitations (tennis elbow, disc compression), I didn’t think going back to weight training on a serious level was going to work for me. I met with Chris and was really impressed with her level of intensive education, her desire to work with clients and their limitations, and her “get ‘er done” personality. I’ve been working out with her on an individual basis for three weeks now and have also attended three rowing classes. I’m loving it and like the fact that she’s working with me and all of my quirks on an individual basis......my workout is designed for me! Chris knows what she’s doing and is passionate about helping people to look and feel better about themselves and most importantly, to have an overall sense of better health and well-being. Glad I found Merriott Fitness!
Chris is fantastic. After recovering from a torn meniscus, she put together a program to strengthen my knee as well as for the back issues I was having. Within a couple months, I was back playing badminton and baseball and haven't felt this strong in 20 years. Chris also helped me put together a program for fat loss exercise as well as nutrition advice. I was shocked to learn that mixing the wrong exercises when trying to lose weight can actually have a negative effect on fat loss. No matter what your fitness level is, Chris can customize a program for you. Her knowledge in injury recovery was actually better than the physio therapist I had been seeing.
This is Michelle reviewing. Chris has a wealth of information and knowledge that she applies to make individualized programs for her clients. Her focus on functional movement is a versatile method that is applied to many goals. Additionally, Chris is committed to encouraging people to have healthy nutrition through education and "walking the talk". I have had much success working with Chris.
Great workout!! Chris is very accommodating and knowledgeable for every level of fitness. Merriott is a friendly/ non intimidating workout environment. I have already recommended her cycling class to family and friends!
